Mark David Chapman

In the scene of the shooting there was confusion and bewilderedness John Lennon was carried out by two police men and brought to the nearest hospital. The behavior that Chapman showed before he murdered was that he was signing John Lennon's name instead of his own on papers and he was also suicidal. Chapman might have felt a connection with Holden because chapman left home when he was 14 years old, and Holden had also left at an early age because he went to boarding school. He might have also felt a connection because Holden didn't really fit in or have a million friends, and Chapman also probably did not have an easy childhood. In the text it says that after Chapman shot John Lennon he took out Catcher in the Rye and started reading. I found this extremely weird because after shooting someone he was relaxed enough to read a book.
